    Is My Dream Home Registry Free?

    We pride ourselves on being very upfront about exactly what is free, and what is not. Our fees are very reasonable considering the services we offer (and the fact that our site is 100% free of any advertisements). And remember, all resources on the site are free, including building your own gift registry. Go ahead and try it out!

    What stores does My Dream Home Registry represent?

    My Dream Home Registry does not represent any store or supplier. We also do not accept money from advertisers or try to influence your purchasing decisions. Gift registry funds for your registry are sent directly to you. You can then purchase the items you need from any retail store, vendor, or contractor you choose.  You have complete freedom with your purchases - all for less than the cost of shipping and tax for a traditional bridal registry.

    This also means no standing in line to return gifts or dealing with inexperienced salespeople and employees. You can shop from the comfort of your home. It really doesn't get any easier.

    Do we need a designer or builder to use My Dream Home Registry?

    A designer or builder is not a prerequisite for using My Dream Home Registry. It is recommended though, as a professional in the field can save large amounts of time and money. The cost of a designer can also be added to your gift registry.

    What if we don't have pictures of everything?

    Not a problem. We have an awesome image gallery that allows you to choose pictures that best represent your ideas!  Kristin Hannah, a well-known designer featured on HGTV, has helped select images that can be used as unique representation of what you're trying to accomplish for your home. It's easy to add or remove pictures from your gift registry at any time.

    My guests and I are ouside the US. Can I still use My Dream Home Gift Registry?

    Absolutely! My Dream Home Registry is accessible almost anywhere. Please note that ALL transactions are handled in US Dollars. Credit Cards will be charged in US Dollars and when your money is sent to you, it will also be in US Dollars. If you live outside the US or Canada, we do not mail checks but can send your gift registry funds via PayPal.

    Please note that our website is configured to only accept credit cards from the United States or Canada.

    Can we use My Dream Home Registry as a place for information to our guests?

    Absolutely!  We mean it when we say you can customize your own bridal registry. You can write personalized notes to your guests informing them of your plans and even upload your own pictures. You can customize it almost any way you choose.

    How do our guests know we are registered with My Dream Home Registry?

    Once you complete the easy gift registry set up, you can email your friends and family an announcement from your Member Control Panel. Or you can add your bridal registry link to your existing event website! Another option, and our personal favorite, we can send you free enclosure cards to hand out or put in your wedding invitations. They are 2-sided glossy and printed on card stock. Here is what they look like:

    What happens to our personal information?

    My Dream Home Registry does not share or sell your personal information or that of your guests. We don't try to "sell" anything to your guests either. The format is very professional and straight-forward. Click here to view our Privacy Policy.

    What is the Member Control Panel?

    Once you complete the four easy steps to set up a gift registry, you will have access to The Member Control Panel. In this private area created just for you, you will be able to do a number of things such as:

    • Edit your gift registry by adding more rooms, pictures, text, etc. 
    • Send email notifications to your friends
    • See who has contributed and messages they left 
    • Withdraw your funds
    • View your withdrawals information - when you requested them and where they are

    How do our guests purchase gifts?

    When guests visit your wedding registry, they will land on your home page and select a room in your gift registry. At the bottom of the page is a link for purchasing gifts. Your guests can purchase any number of $10 gift units using any major credit card. They can also leave a message for you and you'll receive an email notification each time someone purchases you gift registry present.

    What happens if our guests only want to spend a small amount?

    No problem! Your guest can buy units per room starting at just $10. They can buy as many or as few units as they like. The amount of individual contributions cannot be seen by other guests, only by the bridal registry creator.

    How do we know when contributions have been made?

    You as the "register" can visit the My Dream Home Registry website to see a status report whenever you choose! Your guests give gifts for each "area" or room in your home. When someone contributes to a room your bridal registry will send you and the gift giver an email confirmation.

    Why shouldn't our guests just send us cash?

    Most guests like to feel that their money was put towards something you needed. You can use My Dream Home Registry to show your guests exactly how they are helping you. They can be a part of the entire building and designing process (which is much better than sending you two plates of china). Just think how your guests will feel when visiting your home after the bridal registry. They can sit in the very rooms they contributed to and see how your ideas have come to life!

    How do I receive my gift funds?

    You are in complete control of your gift funds at all times.  While signed into the secure Member Control Panel, simply click on "Withdraw My Funds" and select Paypal or Check.  It's that easy!

    What happens if our event gets cancelled?

    You can terminate the bridal registry at any time. From the Member Control Panel you have the ability to delete your entire registry.
